Hutsul Gerdany "White Carpathian"

The Carpathian mountains have their own color vocabulary — red for life, green for the forest, black for the earth, yellow for the sun. This gerdany speaks all of them at once. Woven on a white ground, the ornament builds in layers: chevrons and diamonds stacked with the logic of folk embroidery, each row answering the last. The pattern does not repeat within a single piece — it resolves, like a melody finding its final chord.

The silhouette is traditional Hutsul — straight at the shoulders, narrowing into a long pointed end that falls well below the chest. It is a form that has been worn in the Carpathians for generations, and it carries that weight without announcing it. Against a white shirt or a dark jacket, it speaks for itself.
